Alex Broadhurst is a British artist and Creative Director based in San Francisco, California. His paintings are joyful abstractions that explore the interplay of color and geometric form, creating moments of tension, rhythm, and balance. Each work is meticulously hand-painted to evoke the crisp, deliberate quality of printmaking. Layers of color are built up and then carefully sealed, softening the evidence of the brush to create the illusion of a printed surface.

Drawing on a background in modernist graphic design, Alex’s work is influenced by 20th-century designers such as Max Bill, Paul Rand, and Wim Crouwel. This lineage informs both the visual language and structural clarity of his compositions.

Originally from the UK, Alex studied design at the University of Leeds before beginning his career in London, where his work was recognized by organizations including D&AD, The Design Museum, Creative Review, and the International Society of Typographic Designers.

He relocated to California in 2013 and is currently a Creative Director at Apple. He lives and paints in San Francisco with his wife and daughters.
